The challenge

insightsoftware's WordPress site had grown organically over years of acquisitions — 40+ products, inconsistent taxonomy, slow page loads, and a developer experience that made simple content updates painful. The site's product-centric architecture didn't reflect how buyers actually searched or evaluated solutions.

The approach

Rather than a lift-and-shift, we used the migration as an opportunity to rethink the entire information architecture. The new structure is solutions-centric, organized around buyer problems rather than product names. A headless Astro + Storyblok stack gives content editors a visual editing experience while developers work in modern tooling with type safety and component-driven architecture.

Process

Five phases from audit to launch.

01 Discovery & Architecture Audited 2,000+ pages, mapped content types, defined solutions-centric IA across three business segments: Financial Reporting, Equity, and Data & Analytics.
02 Design System & Components Built a modular component library in Storyblok with Astro islands for interactivity. Established design tokens, responsive patterns, and accessibility standards.
03 Content Migration & Modeling Migrated structured content from WordPress to Storyblok, preserving SEO equity through comprehensive redirect mapping and URL strategy.
04 Build & Integration Astro SSG with Storyblok's visual editor, Vercel edge deployment, and integration with existing martech stack — HubSpot, GA4, GTM, and internal APIs.
05 QA, Launch & Optimization Cross-browser testing, performance benchmarking, staged rollout by business segment, and post-launch CRO monitoring.
